The Banded Sea Krait (Laticauda colubrina) is home to the general indo pacific region, where they inhabit primarily coastal regions. They are known to form hunting packs with giant trevallies, where the kraits flush out prey from nooks and crannies. Their powerful venom make them very effective predators, yet there are fewer recorded bites from this species compared to other venomous species such as cobras and vipers as it is less aggressive and tends to avoid humans. If they bite, it is usually in self-defence when accidentally grabbed.
