Box jellyfish (Cubozoa) are characterized by their cube shaped medusa, which distinguishes them from other cnidarians. Box jellyfish are active hunters, and can produce thrust by pulsating the bell.
Some box jellyfish posses a very effective venom for capturing small prey, which can lead to very serious implications for humans, when the tentacles are touched.
Swimmers and diver should stay well away, no matter how intriguing they look.
